Glue42 and Finsemble Have Merged – Welcome to interop.io!

We believe the industry needs one standard bearer for interoperability and advanced workflow automation, in the same way that FDC3 is the standard for universal application connection. Interoperability is more than a trend, it is here to stay, and delivers demonstrable business outcomes just as the FIX protocol has revolutionized electronic order routing.

In 2022, both Finsemble and Glue42 had record breaking years in terms of revenue growth, client success and product development—while delivering the functionality, scalability and support infrastructure that is required to make interop a practical reality. It became clear that our businesses were very well aligned and shared a similar vision for the industry. Market feedback showed that clients would be best served by combining Glue42’s zero-install technology, library of prebuilt adapters, and realtime behavior analytics together with Finsemble’s leading edge focus on user experience and no-code smart desktop designer.  

By coming together, interop.io offers a unified platform to accelerate innovation and rapidly scale to meet the growing demands of our mutual clients.

The merger included an intense technical due-diligence process that evaluated both firms’ technology and how they could best be combined. The resulting platform, interop.io, combines the best features of Finsemble and Glue42.

At the heart of the platform is io.Connect, which enables clients to build and deploy highly intuitive front ends that bring different applications and functionality into a single, harmonized smart desktop. io.Connect natively supports a range of API’s starting with Finsemble, Glue42 and FDC3. io.Connect automatically bridges between applications using these different API’s.

io.Connect represents the most advanced and complete interop technology available and allows firms to accelerate their digitalization programs regardless of which interop platform is currently in place. This means if you’ve deployed interop projects on OpenFin, FDC3, Finsemble, or Glue42, you can seamlessly transition to io.Connect.

Additional products include io.Manager, a turnkey backend server, and io.Insights, which allows operational, compliance and risk teams to capture and visualize user behavior as they navigate within and between io.-enabled applications.

Finsemble and Glue42 have always collaborated on industry initiatives such as FDC3 and have developed great mutual respect for each other and their technologies. Dan Schleifer, the CEO and Co-Founder of Finsemble and Leslie Spiro, the CEO and Founder of Glue42, have known each other for years and were building towards the same vision for the industry, their clients, and their teams. Joining forces to accelerate that vision was a natural fit.

The new firm will employ over 160 people including 110 full time R&D and implementation engineers located in New York, Charlottesville, London and Sofia.

For clients, prospective clients, and the industry as a whole, the merger will accelerate their digital transformation journeys led by the largest and most technologically advanced interop provider. By leveraging the strengths of the combined teams, interop.io will deliver even faster on the innovation, industry leadership, and client success ethos that has driven growth in each firm.

Instead of working separately towards the same goal, we are now working together to deliver at twice the speed.

Existing customers of both Finsemble and Glue42 will have access to an exciting range of new capabilities that will help them expand and accelerate their interop programs. This will be backed up by a global 24/7 support organization and a team of client success engineers to guide best practice and ensure every project quickly delivers measurable ROI. Firms using other, older interop technologies will be offered an easy migration path onto the new io.Connect platform.

Independent Software Vendors (ISVs) and Systems Integrators (SIs) will be able to accelerate the pace of innovation they can bring to their customers, too. interop.io will be combining and investing further in the partner ecosystems created by both firms. interop.io’s dedicated partner success team will work with this network to make sure ISVs and other partners always get the best possible outcomes for their own clients.

ISVs will have the option of creating applications that can run within io.Connect when a client has it installed, or they can embed our technology directly into their own products. io.Connect will then automatically bridge between any applications a user may be running on any io.Connect instances.

The Finsemble and Glue42 brands were both well known as leaders in interoperability, but in starting the next chapter as a combined firm, we felt a new name was appropriate. As interoperability champions, we chose interop.io to incorporate our mission directly into our name, while using the prefix “io.” before our product names.
